That's good. How did you fix it?

It disconnected, in a way. I don't know how it happened. I think the closest would be that it got overloaded and started rejecting me.

Perle called my brother, and he called the rest of the house to cut me out.

I see. Well at least you're out of it now, right?

What are you up to now that you're out?

I was sleeping a lot and resting the last few days since getting out, so mostly reading and writing.

I was thinking we could go to sign up for school this month, or go to the library. I really want to see a busy street again. What do you think?

I think that'd be good. I found a good book on fossils in the library, too. If you want to read it after me.

[Or with him? But that seems too personal.]

That'd be great. I left a lot of things back in the cave when the monsters started coming. When the beach clears up again, maybe we can go back to get them. Did you find any that match?

I think so. I'd have to look at some of the others again to be sure.

Do you know anyone who could help you go get them? I'm not sure that I could help with monsters.

Confetti might be able to help. I don't think you've met him yet.

No, I haven't. What is he?

I don't know. What I do know is that he's some sort of magical bird creature. He used to be an egg before, then he grew into a fairy. Now this.

That's really weird. Where'd you get him?

[grice]

After I finished a quest done by The Moss King. Kind of like a gift. It was back in March. He was so little then, just this egg. I’d carry him all over the place.

[ proceeds to send pictures of confetti as a togepi. it just makes the heart melt. ]

He's one of those Pthumerian things, right?

That's... kind of cute.

He is! He still is. I mean, not the Moss King. Confetti's cute.

But you're right. Have you figured your patron and blood type out, yet?

I'm a darkblood.

As for patron... I woke up with some kind of necklace near me last month, so whoever's in charge of that one. The Reckoning? I think?

Yeah, that's The Reckoning. I'm glad you figured it out. It makes things easier sometimes.

Anyway, for the caves: Confetti can go with us. And when you're done with the book, I'll take some notes on it. Are there any others in the Archives?

I think there's some others - there must be. There's a lot of books there... so at least some of them have to be about fossils.

Actually I know someone else who might be interested in this stuff. Is it okay if I contact them? We could get together.

Of course! I’d love to go. Are they like a scientist?

I think so? He's smart like one. He reads a lot of books. I guess I never asked.

Are you doing anything right now?

Not really, and I don't have to go in to work today.

Do you want to go visit him? If you're not busy.

I think it'd be good to try, at least. If we don't like it, we can leave.
